DHOL drum & BHANGRA dance is very lively & colourful Traditional Cultural folk music & dance from the Punjab, northern part of India . The Dhol Blasters / Bhangra Blasters are World\'s First team of young Male/Female Vibrant Dhol players & Bhangra dancers,based in England, UK. Been created and managed by one of the pioneers of Bhangra Music industry in the UK , World’s greatest Dhol maestro Gurcharan Mall, Chair & Artistic Director of Punjabi Music Dance Academy, who has many accolades and awards to his name he recently received Community Excellence Award (BCABA), ITV - Arts Leadership Midlander of the year and House of Commons - Panjabi Cultural award. Teams Performed at stage Shows, Festivals, Melas, Processions, Weddings and all sorts of events all over the country and abroad.
In 1999 they took part in a Dholathan and set a world record by playing for 42 hours non-stop and in 2001 they broke their own record - 53 hours non-stop. Both of these was done to raise money for charities. The teams over the year’s have helped to raise Hundreds of Thousands of pounds for various charities - such as Children In Need, Gujarat Earthquake Appeal, Ethiopia and Rwanda Appeals, ear & throat , Eye hospital B’ham & India, kidney dialysis machine W’ton, Cancer research, Brain tumour, Parkinson’s disease , diabetes research and many more. Performed at the Opening\'s of : - The ArtsFest every year since 98 to 06 , The Commonwealth games in Manchester, The Blue Peter celebrations for the Queen\'s Jubilee, The Bullring shopping centre in Birmingham, The Flora Light women’s challenge in Birmingham 04/05 also at The London Marathon 04, 05 & 06, Mega Mela\'s NEC 04/05, Zee Carnival Wembley 06, Plus THE BIGGEST SHOW EVER LIVE 8 with UB40 London - 05. These are just a few shows we named - Released more than 9 albums, for some they have received Platinum & Gold discs . Also won many Awards.
